The Pentair U9-359Z is the OEM replacement drain plug O-ring for the IntelliPro VSF, IntelliPro 2 VST, IntelliPro VS, and Max-E-Pro series pumps, as well as Pentair 5-inch and 6-inch plastic suction trap assemblies.

Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
This O-ring seats against the drain plug on the pump body or suction trap housing, creating a watertight seal that prevents leakage at the drain port. A deteriorated or missing drain plug O-ring is one of the most common sources of slow drip leaks at the base of the pump housing — replacing it at each winterization or whenever the drain plug is removed is straightforward preventive maintenance.

Replace this O-ring any time you remove the drain plug — at winterization, spring start-up, or during pump service. O-rings that have been compressed and heat-cycled through a season rarely re-seal reliably when reinstalled dry. Before seating the new O-ring, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to help it seat evenly, prevent tearing during assembly, and extend service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure. If your IntelliPro pump has two drain ports, confirm you are replacing both O-rings (Qty. 2 required) before reassembling.
