The Pentair U9-375Z is the OEM replacement 8.5" trap cover O-ring for the Max-E-Glas® II, Dura-Glas® II, Dyna-Glas®, Dyna-Max, and Dyna-Wave series pumps. If your pump's strainer cover is weeping water or losing prime, this O-ring is the first part to inspect and replace.

Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The trap cover O-ring forms the pressure seal between the pump's strainer pot lid and the pump body. A degraded or flattened O-ring allows air to enter the suction side of the pump, causing loss of prime, reduced flow, and potential motor damage from dry running. Replacing this O-ring at the first sign of weeping or cracking restores a proper airtight seal and protects pump performance.

Pro Tip
Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly in the groove, prevents tearing during lid installation, and significantly extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure. While the strainer pot is open, inspect the lid itself for hairline cracks that can also cause air leaks even with a new O-ring in place.
