The Boost-Rite booster pump requires 2 kits (4 drain plugs total) for a complete service. The HydroBoost booster pump requires 1 kit.

Always lubricate the O-rings with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.
The drain plugs seal the drain ports on the booster pump housing, preventing water loss during normal operation. When the O-rings degrade or the plugs become damaged, the pump can weep water at the drain port — replacing both the plugs and O-rings together restores a proper seal and prevents moisture from tracking toward the motor.

Pro Tip
When servicing the drain ports, replace both the plug and the O-ring together — even if only one component appears worn. O-rings that have been compressed for an extended period will not re-seal reliably once disturbed. Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to each O-ring to help it seat evenly and prevent tearing during assembly. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the O-ring material and cause premature failure.
