About This Item
This is a comprehensive test kit good for homeowners with pools and spas, if spas are separate as it includes a bromine test.
Taylor® K-2005 Test Kits are designed for comprehensive water quality analysis in pools and spas by measuring essential parameters to help ensure optimal water balance and sanitizer effectiveness. This is an 9-way test kit using DPD for Chlorine testing and includes Bromine test for separate spas.
This test kit uses 0.75 oz reagent bottles. If you have increased testing needs, please select the K-2005C model with 2 oz reagent bottles.
High Range test kit
Taylor 2000 Series
Maintaining safe pool/spa water for the public is an important responsibility. Therefore, precise test results are essential when checking the water quality of commercial pools and spas. Taylor 2000 Series is designed for the kind of comprehensive, routine testing performed by service technicians, public and semipublic pool operators, and other professionals. Taylor 2000 Series uses printed color standards to achieve a reliable and accurate color match, making frequent test comparisons even easier.
2000 Series kits feature six different chlorine ( High Range : 0.5-5 ppm, Low Range : 0.25-2.5 ppm), bromine (HR: 1-10 ppm, LR: .5-5 ppm) and pH (7.0 to 8.0) standards
Tests for Chlorine, Bromine, pH, Cyanuric Acid, Hardness, Alkalinity and Acid/Base Demand
Features hard shell case, easy to read comparator and 3/4 oz reagent bottle sizes.
Testing Types Include:
- Chlorine 1–10 ppm
- Bromine 2–20 ppm
- pH 7.0–8.0
- Acid & base demand
- Total alkalinity
- Calcium hardness
Descriptions of Tests
| Analyte | Description | Method/Chemistry | Standard/Equivalance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Alkalinity, Total | Total alkalinity represents the concentration of bicarbonates, carbonates, and hydroxides that buffer pH changes in water. This test determines alkalinity levels to ensure stability and prevent sudden fluctuations in pH. | Blended indicator | 1 drop = 10 ppm total alkalinity as CaCO₃ |
| Hardness, Calcium | Prevent white calcium build-up and protect pool surfaces and equipment with precise Calcium Hardness test results. | EDTA titration (includes inhibitors to prevent metal interference) | 1 drop = 10 ppm calcium hardness as CaCO₃ |
| Chlorine, Free & Total | Free chlorine is the active form of chlorine for disinfecting water; testing for it helps ensure adequate levels for sanitization. Total chlorine includes both free and combined chlorine, and is measured to provide a comprehensive evaluation of chlorine presence in the water. Subtracting free chlorine from total provides the combined chlorine reading | DPD | 1, 2, 3, 5, 7.5, 10 ppm chlorine (Cl₂) |
| pH w/ acid/base demand | It’s all about balance. Quickly and accurately determine how much acid or base is needed to reach the desired pH level. | Phenol red | 7.0, 7.2, 7.4, 7.6, 7.8, 8.0 |
| Bromine, Total | For pools and spas that use bromine instead of chlorine, you can be certain there's enough disinfectant to keep the water clean. | DPD | 2, 4, 6, 10, 15, 20 ppm bromine (Br₂) |
| Cyanuric Acid | Sunlight can strip chlorine of its effectiveness. Monitor chlorine stabilizer levels with Taylor Cyanuric Acid tests for optimal sanitization. | Turbidimetric | 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100 ppm CYA |
