The Unicel C-7489 is a 7000 Series (7" diameter) 112 sq. ft. replacement filter cartridge built for Hayward's Super-Star-Clear C4500 and SwimClear C4520 multi-cartridge systems. Its 185 pleats of 4 oz. Reemay 2040 spunbonded polyester media deliver high-capacity particle capture across the full 25 1/2" filtration surface, providing more filtration area per cartridge than lower-pleat-count alternatives in the same dimensional class.

The Hayward Super-Star-Clear C4500 and SwimClear C4520 require four cartridges to complete the filter bank — totaling 448 sq. ft. of filtration capacity. This listing is for one (1) individual cartridge. The complete 4-cartridge replacement set is available as Unicel C-7489-4.

Hayward uses two related part numbers for this cartridge: CX875RE refers to a single replacement cartridge element, while CX875XRE is Hayward's part number for the complete factory 4-cartridge pack — both are compatible with the Unicel C-7489. If the C-7489 is unavailable, the Unicel C-7488 (106 sq. ft., 176 pleats) shares identical physical dimensions (25 1/2" length, 7" OD, 3" ID both ends) and fits the same housing as a lower-capacity alternative.
