Pool Size & Application
The PowerFlo Matrix is engineered for permanently-installed above-ground swimming pools; it is not designed for storable pools.
System Integration
This pump operates independently via its rear-mounted switch. Quick-connect threaded intake and discharge ports with molded-in thread stops simplify plumbing hookup, and Hayward recommends union connections — such as the Hayward Union Connector Pack (SP1500UNPAK2) — for easier service access and seasonal removal.
Common Replacement Parts

Poolaroo Pro Tip
Check and clean the strainer basket regularly — the C-Clip retainer secures the basket in place, and the strainer cover is designed to be hand-tightened (with pressure released before removal) for straightforward access. At season's end, remove the integral drain plug from the strainer body to fully drain the pump before storing it indoors, and clean/lubricate the strainer cover O-ring with a non-petroleum lubricant each time the cover is removed to keep it sealing properly.
