About This Item
The Hayward Super Pump VS 620 (W3VSP26620) pairs a 2.25 HP variable-speed pump with the on-board OmniX automation module, giving in-ground pool owners app-based control of circulation directly from a smartphone — no separate controller required to get started.
IMPORTANT: DUAL-VOLTAGE, FIELD-CONFIGURABLE
This pump supports 115/230 VAC and is selected via an internal jumper. It ships factory pre-configured for 230 VAC. Voltage selection and wiring should be handled by a qualified electrician, and the pump must be connected only to a GFCI-protected branch circuit per NEC requirements.
Unique Features & Technology
- OmniX Bluetooth® app control — manage the pump directly from the Hayward OmniX mobile app, including on/off control, a custom speed slider, preset speeds, time-of-day schedules, countdown timers, diagnostics, and alerts.
- Water temperature monitoring — the included OmniX module integrates a temperature sensor plumbed between the pump and filter for real-time readings in the app.
- Configurable freeze protection — built-in freeze protect logic is set and adjusted from the OmniX app's equipment settings.
- Optional remote access — add the Hayward OmniX Gateway accessory (sold separately) to control the pump from outside the home network.
- OmniLogic account compatible — homeowners with an existing Hayward OmniLogic account can log directly into the OmniX app.
- Standalone operation available — the pump can run independently of the OmniX module (disconnect the module cable) using legacy single-button programming, so control is never a single point of failure.
- DOE Compliant.
Hayward backs this pump with a 3-year parts warranty.

Pool Size & Application
The Super Pump VS 620 is built for permanently installed in-ground pools (and marked hot tubs/spas); it is not intended for storable pools.
System Integration
Control runs through Bluetooth® from the OmniX app on your phone, with the optional OmniX Gateway (W3GATEWAYX1) enabling away-from-home access. The pump can also run in standalone mode with the module disconnected, using the onboard button to cycle HIGH, MED, LOW, and STOP. Installation must use copper conductors on a dedicated, permanently wired branch circuit with GFCI protection, and the motor must be bonded with No. 8 AWG (No. 6 AWG in Canada) solid copper wire to the bonding lug on top of the motor. Never run the pump without water in the strainer housing — water cools and lubricates the mechanical shaft seal.
Common Replacement Parts
Keep this pump running with genuine Hayward wear parts: Strainer Basket (SPX1600M), Strainer Cover (SPX1600D), Shaft Seal Assembly (SPX1600Z2), Impeller, 2.25 THP (SPX2615C), and Pipe Plug with Gasket (SPX1700FG).
Poolaroo Pro Tip
On first startup, this pump primes at 100% speed for up to 10 minutes before dropping to its factory 50% speed schedule — let it complete that cycle undisturbed rather than adjusting speed early. If you use the manual override button to bump to HIGH or LOW for a task like vacuuming, note it automatically reverts to the programmed OmniX schedule after 3 hours (STOP mode is the exception and stays until you resume it). Before winter shutdown, remove the drain plugs and strainer cover to fully drain the pump rather than relying on the app's freeze-protect cycle alone.
