Over time, oils, sunscreen, and fine dust embed deep into the fabric, raising the pressure in your tank and forcing your pump to work harder. While regular rinsing helps, every cartridge eventually reaches a "point of no return" where the fabric fibers fray and the bands break.

Q: How often should I replace my filter cartridges?
A: Typically every 12 to 18 months (or 2-3 seasons). If you clean the filter and the tank pressure stays high (or drops very quickly after starting), the fabric is clogged and needs replacement.

Q: How do I measure for a replacement if I don't have the part number?
A: Measure the Length (end cap to end cap), the Outside Diameter (width of the circle), and the Inside Diameter of the center hole. Also, note if the ends are open or closed/threaded.

Q: Can I use a pressure washer to clean my cartridges?
A: No. High-pressure water can tear the fabric and separate the pleats, ruining the filter's ability to trap dirt. Use a standard garden hose with a spray nozzle or a dedicated filter cleaning wand.

Q: Why is my filter pressure gauge reading high?
A: High pressure indicates the filter is dirty and resisting water flow. It’s your tank’s way of screaming "Clean me!" If the pressure remains high after a deep chemical soak, it's time to buy a new cartridge.

Q: Do I need to replace all 4 cartridges in my quad-tank at once?
A: Yes. If you have a large tank with four cartridges, they wear out at the same rate. Replacing only one causes uneven water flow, which can crush the new filter and damage the internal manifold.
